What do well established mindfulness teachings/practices offer that are not widely available in areas of medication and psychotherapy?
Western Mindfulness offers five primary benefits.
1. A wide host of practical tools, methods, techniques and exercises to reduce stress in daily life, develop changes in view and transform self-image. The specific practices develop confidence to share experiences, apply ethical values, depths of meditation, clarity and insights into a full range of daily life situations.
2. Contact with like-minded in the short and long term. The teachings of mindfulness take place in small groups. This provides the opportunity to listen to the experience of others, learn from others and share experiences in a range of areas.
3. Many mindfulness teachers offer the practices in the spirit of leadership/friendship, often sharing their experiences. Many mindfulness teachers prefer this mode of being rather than speaking as a detached professional.
4. You can explore daily practices anywhere, so you do not have to sit every day at home or a weekly 1-1 meeting with your therapist, unless it is important for you. Mindfulness practices can take place on the bus to work, sitting at the kitchen table, office, park bench, in the pew in a cathedral. Practices include mindful walking, standing, reclining eating.
5. Trainee teachers of mindfulness learn the art of listening, speaking/public speaking, facilitating and taking quesions on mindfulness. Practices include outdoors/indoors and our engagement with the world.
Benefits of mindfulness practice for oneself and others can last until nature squeezes the last breath out of our body.
Time to Expand the World of Mindfulness
MTTC provides teachings/practices to generate Agents of Change to apply to a world beset with major personal, social and global issues.
Our Mindfulness Training Course started in 2011 and evolved in 2016 into the Mindfulness Teacher Training Course.
There is also an opportunity for participants to meet in person with two four days session in Germany and England.
Senior teachers are Nshorna and myself (daugher-father team). MTTC also includes a senior assistant teacher, four assistant teachers and a co-ordinator for the course.
We offer a professional international certification (CPD) for the MTTC as well as our Certificate. For authorisation, MTTC had to submit a detailed lesson programme for all 52 weeks and our training in safeguards for mindfulness teachers and their sessions.
We keep the cost as affordable as possible, based on a registration fee for the year and donations. MTTC falls into two six month modules. First module consists of training in mindfulness. Second module consists of further training along with training to teach mindfulness.
So far, we have received 65 names for the next MTTC. Registration payments start on 1 September 2024.
You can teach mindfulness from home, zoom, wellbeing centres, offices, institutions, outdoors and more. Our teachings include application to secular, spiritual and religious experiences for people of science and people of faith.
We provide teachings for trainees to become agents of change.
MTTC include participants from a range of countries worldwide. You will learn a lot from each other and develop precious friendships.
Love
Christopher and Nshorna
