The Awakened One. A Poetic Reflection

Inspired by a discourse

The Awakened one abides
with liberating knowledge 
free as a bird on the wing
with wise and bold conduct 
knows this world of clinging.

Firm and fearless teacher 
sees Mara and, yes, sees God
knows religious, bright angels 
global night of dark egos
states whatever needs to be 
stated with a power to
act with clear conviction.

A bodhi tree of deep roots
with vast canopy of shade
from heat of minds beating
a rage of global warming
while noble action speaks
steady as a mountain.

Sheds light into the dark
reveals what was hidden
open eyes to see forms
yet dwells with the form-less
not dual, nor non-dual.

Oh, so worthy of welcome
into a life going deep
freeing up love's mission
liberating exposures
in the truth of the real.

May all beings abide in the company of the Awakened One
May all beings stay close to what matters
May all beings know a fulfilled process.
