Dear Readers,
I’m delighted to announce the publication of my new book, Questioning our Views.
The book asks a simple but demanding question: What reveals clarity amid the noisy volume of views and opinions?
Having spent 18 months preparing the manuscript, I believe the book offers both challenge and encouragement to find wise responses to polarised debates and relentless information overload. I have aimed throughout to write in precise, readable prose.
The opening paragraph of each of the 41 chapters offers a brief summary. Each chapter ends with five questions for reflection, and the book provides a further ten questions for every chapter at the end.
I regard this book as a labour of love—sometimes more labour than love!
The work involved countless hours of research through websites, books, podcasts, YouTube and print media.
You can purchase the book on Amazon websites worldwide. Using the ISBN number, you can also order it through retailers, wholesalers and libraries worldwide. Further information appears at the foot of this page.
Themes
We live amid an abundance of claims, arguments, outrage and global uncertainty. Wars, political conflict, Gaza, climate emergency, authoritarianism, artificial intelligence and the accelerating influence of social media trigger multiple reactions.
It is easy to find fault with political and social opinion-makers. We also need to pause, reflect and investigate our own views, as well as the views of others. This can lead to a further step: developing views and action with wisdom and compassion at their heart, and becoming agents of change alongside like-minded people.
Small request
I invite you to write a brief review on Amazon after reading the book. Reviews do not require you to use your name. I do not have a book agent or publicist, so every purchase, recommendation and review makes a real difference to an independent author.
Please consider purchasing a copy and sharing this announcement with friends, family and colleagues. Groups, whether in person or online, may wish to meet, read a chapter, explore its questions and share their views.
May we engage in rigorous inquiry and initatives to challenge the falsehoods and manipulative claims of powerful voices that lead to suffering worldwide.
Thank you for your interest and support.
