Mindfulness, Meditation and Liberation
Saturday April 5 and Sunday April 6, 2014 10 am to 5 pm
The two day workshop will consist of practical mindfulness training, the disciplines of meditation and enquiry into our human condition with emphasis a liberated way of life.
Mindfulness in conjunction with meditation and enquiry contributes to reaching deeper levels of ourselves, opening the heart, insights into our inner life and finding the resolve to make worthwhile changes in our life. All valuable practices point directly to a liberated way of life. The practice will include the four primary postures of sitting, walking, standing and reclining along with themes for reflection.
The workshop will offer periods of silence, dialogues with Christopher, question and answers and small groups for shared exploration of experiences.
TIME
The retreat starts on at 10am on both days and finishes at 5pm on both dates. You can arrive from 9.40am to give you time to register and settle in.
WHAT TO BRING
If you wish to sit on the floor please could you bring a cushion or stool and mat or blanket. If you are not able to BTB have a few cushions you can use. There will also be chairs available at the venue.
Please bring vegetarian food for a shared lunch on Saturday and Sunday. There is some fridge space available.
The Dharma School is a strict PEANUT FREE ZONE as one of the children attending there has a peanut allergy. Therefore please DO NOT bring any food containing peanuts into the school.
DANA
The booking payment that you have made covers BTB costs of organising and running the retreat. In accordance to Buddhist traditions all dharma teachers invited by us do not charge for their retreats. There will be an opportunity to offer ‘Dana’ or donation to support Christopher’s teaching, at the end of the retreat.

Bus – The 5 & 5B stop at the bottom of Ladies Mile Road, there is a bus every ten minutes. The number 56 stops near to the school, this operates an hourly service from the bottom of Ladies Mile Road. For further information please visit the Brighton Buses page for Patcham
Train – The closest station is Preston Park, the 5 bus stops nearby.
On foot – Thes school can be accessed from Ladies Mile Road on foot. Please see map above.
Cycling – You can bring your bike into the school playground for secure parking.
Car- There is free parking on the street.
Yasmin and Nick will be managing the retreat.
Christopher Titmuss, a senior Dharma teacher in the West, offers retreats, facilitates pilgrimages and leads Dharma Gatherings worldwide. His teachings focus on insight meditation (vipassana), the expansive heart and enquiry into love and liberation. Poet and social critic, he is the author of numerous books including Light on Enlightenment, An Awakened Life and Poems from the Edge. More than 100 of his talks are freely available on www.archive.org and as podcasts. He lives in Totnes, Devon, England
