I KNEW TOMORROW YESTERDAY I had a half-hearted belief I knew tomorrow when tomorrow landed on my doorstep the belief crumbled ages ago, a wake up as if what will happen only knocks on my door when it happens.
A view from the loft at dawn. Totnes, Devon, England
I listened to the wind instead
that blew in before the hour
in whispers of an autumn day
hiding itself among leaves
of golden hues blowing around
unsettled to reveal all sides.
Tomorrow offers what went before
in presentations, much the same,
to shed light on what went unseen
songs without a singer
actions without an agent
only a word to mark time.
Oh, past, present and future
stuff of fairy tales, make believe
one after the other, a trio
of deceptions, categories carved
the future abides in the past
the past abides in the future
the present under pressure
nowhere to rest in the
movements in any direction.
What did arise will arise
before we slept at night
what will arise did arise
before we woke up at dawn
the present bears no
solitude from neightbours.
I glimpse yesterday lurking
in today while snuggling
up with tomorrow
in this unphased intimacy
of time, inseperable
rocks and hardness
forests and wood
oceans and waves.
Wow! the surprise flash
a shooting star races
beyond the reach of
thought hurled among us
our senses take flight
into cosmic breakthrough
of an unexpected treasure.
Shattering the convenience
of time and its formations
an end to the limits set
light of timeless revelations.
What a spectacle!
enough to wake us up
from the spell of the
mirage of the three fields
of time, named but unfixed.
Oh, shooting star
a star of the stars
long enough to
dissolve our measured
steps, a glorious
interruption to
confirm the fusion
of timeless engagement.
How extra-ordinary it is to exist.

Beautiful poem.
