We find ourselves subjected to a political world of fixations of opinions around claims to truth, half-truth, distorted truth, fake news, suppressed information, falsehoods, deceptions, denial, and outright lies. We find ourselves susceptible to the political persuasions of the media with the support of the demagoguery of our politicians and corporations. Powerful figures combine to persuade us of their beliefs. Personal abuse, ridicule, blame and accusations matter far more than a healthy political dialogue to get to the truth of the matter. Far too much politicians prefer arguing and shouting to a thoughtful debate.
