Christopher will guide us in examining karma not through abstract theory, but through our direct experience and practise.
He urges the West to integrate teachings/practises of karma as one of the deepest applications of psychology available for humanity. An inquiry into karma and its consequences would transform the mindset of all those who understand its significance in all our activities, past and present.
Together, we’ll investigate the connection between our intentions, actions, and the outcome – both in meditation and daily life. We’ll look deeply into what creates binding patterns of karma, both wholesome and unwholesome, and discover what actions can free us from these patterns altogether.
The profusion of views and opinions about karma need not obstruct exploring karma. The Buddha faced the same situation, but he still spoke regularly of the importance of karma.
Meaning of Karma
I draw upon my research into the Buddha’s 10,000 discourses as well as decades of exploration of karma.
Pali scholars usually translate karma as action. Technically, karma does mean action but the word action does not communicate the subtlety and nuances of our actions and behaviour.
We can realise karma (action) free from any weight from the past, wholesome or unwholesome.
Insights into the influence of karma from the past matters This include so-called wholesome (good, wholesome, not producing harm) and unwholesome (not good, unwholesome, harmful). There is karma (action of body, speech and mind) not tied to the past.
Teachings point to the liberation of action from any weight of past influences.
Via our experiences, we will explore four kinds of karma
Wholesome
Unwholesome
Both wholesome and unwholesome
Wise action, not bound to wholesome, unwholesome, nor both.
Live classes begin at 7am GMT / 8am CET each morning.
Replays will be posted in Sangha Live’s dharma library for viewers in other time zones.

Final Word
All meditators and non-meditators across the globe are warmly invited to tune in. Here are four serious questions.
Is it your karma to join these Sangha Live sessions?
Is it your karma not to join the sessions?
Is it your karma to have mixed feelings about the sessions?
Is your action free from dependency?
I will put these questions among other questions to you to respond online in the chat column or in direct speech.
Each session includes a guided meditation/reflection on the theme, a talk and Q&A.
Do join.
Or not.
Love
Christopher
