The Changeless. Knock, Knock on Heaven's Door
60-minute Daily Meditation sessions with Sangha Live.
Mornings of Monday, 9 September - Friday, 13 September 2024
These live classes begin at 7am GMT / 8am CET each morning.
Sangha Live offers a theme for September. Navigating Constant Change.
Session includes guided meditation, short talk and Q&A.
Conventional human experience reveals the subject and the object.
The subject, including consciousness, mindfulness, awareness, I, self, my, changes.
The object, including mind/body/things/world/time/space and here and now, changes.
All of these features are subject to change, subject to impermanence, suddenly or gradually.
We might conclude true reality reveals change or is it a reality based on the changeable view of subject-object?
A hint: Moment-to-moment attention is not the answer. The language of moment-to-moment attention does not appear in the teachings of the Buddha - with sound reason.
Lend an ear on this point during the week.
Can realisation of the changeless make easy the navigation of change?
Can you think of a problem which is either about something changing that you don’t want to change or something not changing that you want to change?
Please knock, knock on heaven’s door.
Monday
Session will inquire into impermanence, change and our relationship to it. Three characteristics of impermanence - what arises, what stays and what passes, including birth, life and death. Welcome, unwelcome or neither. We live in the unsatifactoriness of the unreliability of subject and object. What is the point of holding onto anything?
Tuesday
Session will inquire into what arises and the primary conditions for what arises. Welcome or not. What shows a healthy or unhealthy relationship to what arises, starts, begins or emerges?
Wednesday
Session will inquire into what stays, either briefly or for an extended period. Welcome or not. What is worth nourishing which stays – even though what stays abides subject to change? What is worth dissolving which stays or sticks around?
Thursday
Session will inquire into what passes, fades away, disappears, collapes or dies – incuding goals, fruits of action, consequences, outcome. What reveals a wise relationship to endings, to completion, to what finishes.
Friday
The Changless, the Non-Impermanent, Impermanence depends upon the view there is to something to be impermanent. Changeless confirms the impermance of impermanence, the end of constant navigation of so-called navigation. A liberating relief.
These classes, including a guided meditation, a dharma talk and Q&A, are offered on dana/generosity-basis. All meditators across the globe are warmly invited to tune in.
Replays of the five sessions will be posted in Sangha Live’s dharma library for viewers in other time zones, who resist setting an alarm and going back to sleep 60 minutes later.

PS. Beloved Sangha.
Wherever you are in the world….I adopt the view the teachings matter more than sleep (unless you experience health issues etc). The “I need my view”gets in the way of waking up – as a fact and as a metaphor.
Lots of Love
